Experience the impressive and historic Swan View Tunnel, the delightfully scenic National Park Falls and views of the Swan Coastal Plain from the Eagle View Lookout on the Tunnels, Falls & Eagle Views Hiking Experience.
The Swan View Tunnel, located in John Forrest National Park was built in 1895 and is the earliest tunnel in WA's history. The construction of the railway line was a major engineering project managed by C Y O'Connor. An incredible amount of rocks and rubble were moved to construct the embankments, along with intensive blasting, digging, dynamite and horsepower.
Join Off The Beaten Track WA as we guide you on a 10km hike in John Forrest National Park, through tunnels, past waterfalls and cascades, and then following the ridge until we reach awe-inspiring views of the Perth city skyline!

Full Moon Yoga Hiking Experience | Mundaring

There is something very mysterious about a full moon! Lunar energy can have a powerful healing force and when combined with yoga can release tension and restore you, leaving you feeling grounded, rejuvenated and fulfilled. Combine this with the natural benefits of hiking and nature and you have the ultimate moonlight bathing session.
As you are guided along the trail by Off The Beaten Track WA, you will witness the sun setting over the valley and the surrounding hills transform from daylight, to dusk to darkness. You will relax at the Golden View Lookout, take in the views of the Mundaring Weir and Beelu National Park and watch the moon rise as you move through your relaxing yoga practice under the stars.

Discover the Bibbulmun | Kalamunda to Mundaring Hiking Experience

The Kalamunda to Mundaring Weir section of the Bibbulmun Track features steep rocky terrain, flowing waters, granite boulders, picturesque views over the Mundaring Weir and Lake CY O'Connor plus amazing valley views all combined in 20kms of hiking gold!

Kicking off at the Bibbulmun Track Northern Terminus (Kalamunda), we will travel through the former golf course that is now known as Jorgensen Park and into Kalamunda National Park. Following the creek line of Piesse Brook downwards we will admire spectacular valley views before we start heading up hill past granite outcrops and boulders and through lush mixed Jarrah forest. Shortly after we pass the Camel Farm the track levels out and stays relatively flat as we pass numerous gorgeous granite outcrops which make excellent vantage points to stop and take in the inspiring views of Paull's Valley!
We'll stop at Golden View lookout to admire the views of the Mundaring Weir before hiking through Beelu National Park to reach the Weir and Lake CY O'Connor. You will marvel in its beauty and after reading the interpretive signage have an appreciation of the work that went into building this impressive structure regarded as one of the world’s great engineering projects. After crossing the weir, we will pass some large granite boulders before reaching the Mundaring Weir Hotel where we can have a nice cold refreshing drink and toast to our hiking achievement!
Off The Beaten Track WA will guide you along the Bibbulmun Track, through Piesse Brook and Paull's Valley as you take in the views of one the most difficult and scenic sections of this world class trail! The terrain on this section of the Bibbulmun is quite steep and rocky in parts but you will be well supported by Off The Beaten Track WA.
Time : 8am - 3pm* (*Approx)
Includes: 20 km guided hike, nutritious morning tea, bus from Mundaring Weir Hotel to start point in Kalamunda, complimentary use of hiking poles, sunscreen, repellent & access to all hike photographs.
Meeting Point: Mundaring Weir Hotel, Cnr Mundaring Weir Rd & Hall Rd, Mundaring. Please meet at 7:45am so we can board the bus on time.
Fitness level: A reasonable level of fitness is required as we will be hiking 19.5kms at a pace of approximately 3-4kms/her.

Kids Overnight Hiking Adventure

Create special memories with your little one by experiencing a fun filled overnight hiking adventure with Off The Beaten Track WA !
Together you will hike through the Jarrah forest in Mundaring for a short but very sweet 3kms to Ball Creek Campsite. After we set up the tents and your homes for the night, you will learn bush craft and camping skills from our experienced guides. As the sun goes down we will light the campfire and make our tasty damper to go with our delicious dinner. After dinner, out come the head torches for some possum spotting and a short night hike!
On day two we will leave the heavy packs at camp and head on up the Bibbulmun Track for a short hike to Manns Gully before returning to camp, packing up and heading back through the forest for our return hike.
Taking the next step into overnight hiking can be very rewarding and a lot of fun, especially when you share that experience with your child. It's important to be prepared and feel confident so you have an awesome experience! This is your chance to give overnight hiking a go with our experienced Off The Beaten Track WA hiking guides who will assist you, educate you and answer any questions you may have.
We have incorporated all meals into this itinerary to make your equipment list as short as possible. A packing list will be emailed to you upon registration. Further details will be sent to you once your booking is confirmed.

Ages: This Kids Overnight Hiking Adventure has been designed for 6-11 year olds. BUT you now your child best and as long as they can manage the distance, they are very welcome.
Distance: Total hike distance on day 1 is 2.7kms. Hike on morning of day 2 without heavy packs is 5kms. Hike from camp back to PHDC is 2.7kms.
Time : Depart 1pm Saturday from Perth Hills Discovery Centre. Arrive back 3pm Sunday.
Adult: $200
Child: $50
Includes: 2 days of guided hiking, bush craft and games, damper cooking activity, all meals (dinner, breakfast, lunch), complimentary hire of hiking stove and pot set (1 per family), OTBT memento and a whole lot of fun!
What to Bring? As a rough guide you will require a tent, sleeping mat, sleeping bag, stove gas, plate, cup, spoon, pillow, clothes, toiletries, 3ltrs water, and a pack big enough to put it all in (55-65ltr). Your child will require their sleeping mat, sleeping bag, liner, pillow, clothes, toiletries and water in a pack big enough to put it all in (40ltr).A full packing list will be provided upon registration.
Please note: OTBT can arrange a great deal for you on any hiking gear you may need to purchase. Just shoot us through an email and we'll get you a quote! We also have tents, Osprey 65ltr packs and mats available to hire. If you'd like to hire one of these items from us, please add it to your booking in the 'extras' area. Please note you will be required to pay a refundable bond on hired equipment at the time of collection. The bond fee is dependent on the equipment hired. Please note equipment can be collected from our "Basecamp" in Baldivis the Thursday before the tour.
COVID-19 Measures: We encourage all hikers to keep a distance of 1.5m away from others and utilise the hand sanitizer available whilst on our hikes. If you are unwell, please stay at home, and we’ll do the same.
