Daintree Cultural Day 24/25

Embark on an unforgettable day exploring the beach and rainforest with your private guide and vehicle.
It is advisable to bring beach shoes and comfortable clothing for walking through the water and mudflats.
As well as a hat, sunglasses, swimwear, and a towel.
Your day begins with a scenic drive north, passing through lush sugar cane fields, leading to the Daintree River.
Upon reaching the river, you'll embark on a one-hour wildlife cruise. This cruise offers the opportunity to spot a variety of local wildlife, including the Saltwater Crocodile, diverse bird species, rainforest frogs, and fruit bats.
After the river cruise, your next destination is the Mossman Gorge Visitor Centre, located in the World Heritage Listed Daintree National Park, a region sacred to the Kuku Yalanji people. Here, you'll explore the ancient rainforest, learning about the area's unique flora, fauna, and ecosystem. You'll have the chance to take a refreshing swim in a natural waterhole.
Following lunch, a short drive takes you to Cooya Beach. Here, you'll be greeted by a First Nations Custodian who will share their cultural heritage and the ongoing practices on this traditional homeland. After an introduction to the traditional art of spear throwing and handling, you'll follow your guide along Cooya Beach, learning about cultural medicine and food plants. Accompany your guide for a session of spearfishing and gathering in the mangroves and mudflats, a daily activity for feeding their families.
The experience concludes with a demonstration of Kuku Yalanji artefacts and stories from their traditional lands, before heading back to your accommodation.
Tour may run in a different order due to availability, we will advise if this occurs.
