The area around Narooma has a rich history of cycling with Australia’s oldest Velodrome situated just outside of town in Corunna. People would travel by ox and cart from all over Australia to attend the Corunna Cycle Club races there in the late 1800’s. There are some amazing photographs of the crowds gathered to watch the spectacle and the velodrome is still visible to this day.


One of the most beautiful things to do in Narooma is to take a bike ride along the Narooma to Dalmeny cycle track. The 21 km round trip route hugs the stunning coastline on a cycle track that was built and funded by the community. Starting from the Narooma Wharf spot giant sting rays, pelicans, fish and sometimes even seals then continuing along the track to the Narooma Bridge with panoramic views across the Wagonga Inlet over to Gulaga Mountain in the distance. This view never fails to take your breath away.

From here cycle on to the Mill Bay Boardwalk also built and funded by the community. This stunning boardwalk is one of the highlights of Narooma. Listen to the bell birds and enjoy the serenity whilst you cycle over the waters of the Wagonga Inlet. There are almost always pelicans floating with the tide. Spot the amazing birdlife and fish in the beautiful clear waters. Follow the track to the marsh lands behind Bar Beach and spot the birds amongst the rushes. Birds such as black swans, herons, ducks and many other native birds are viewed easily from the track. This is a bird watchers paradise.


The cycle track then follows numerous breathtaking beaches all the way to Mummaga Lake in Dalmeny. There are view points along the track with signs that tell guests all about the rich Aboriginal history of the coast. At certain times of the year you can spot whales breaching (May to November) or dolphins frolicking in the waves. On the return take the cycle track to Fosters Bay and take in the views over the Wagonga Inlet. Stop at Quarterdeck Restaurant or Inlet Restaurant for a quick refreshment (Not included). Explore the town of Narooma with numerous restaurants, shops and bars. Marvel at the seal colony at the Australian Rock lookout or take in the views to Montague Island from the Narooma Golf Course. Cycle to Surf Beach and view the magnificent Glasshouse Rocks.

We will pick you up from your accommodation in Narooma and transfer you to our office where we fit you out with bikes, helmets etc.
We will give you a map of how to get to the Tilba Valley Winery via the Old Highway and full pre-ride training. It is approximately a 55 minute (12 km approx) E-Bike ride from Narooma to the Tilba Valley Winery through beautiful rolling valleys with stunning countryside giving you around an hour to explore the Narooma sights before you set off for the winery.
The pedal assist advanced technology of our Giant Fathom Electric Powered Mountain Bikes means that you can choose individually the level of difficulty for your ride. The electric motor starts as soon as you pedal and goes up to 25 km/hr. You can either ride the e-bike with no assist like a normal bike or full level assist to cruise through the countryside with ease. The Tilba Valley Winery is nestled on 10 acres of established vines on stunning Corunna Lake just between Narooma and Tilba. There is no minimum restriction to book, (singles and couples can book this tour), but there is a minimum number of 4 people needed to operate this tour. We do our best to make sure every tour runs, keeping you well informed of the tour status in your post booking communication and work with you to find a suitable arrangement if the tour is cancelled, like scheduling you on another suitable tour or a refund.)


Discover the pristine coastline from Narooma to Dalmeny. The Narooma to Dalmeny cycle track is one of the most beautiful cycle tracks in Australia. Following the coast this 21 km round trip has a rich Aboriginal history with spectacular views of stunning beaches and views out to Montague Island.


Our first stop is at the Bar Rock Lookout where you will enjoy 360 panoramic views out to Baranguba (Montague Island) and up the coast to Potato Point. We will then make our way down to Australia Rock a favourite spot for Instagram photos. Just beside Australia Rock is a seal colony nestled in amongst the rocks. You can get so close to these beautiful creatures but not too close to disturb them.
From here we will make our way to Narooma Bridge and on to the Mill Bay Boardwalk. Look out for the giant sting rays and black swans that frequent the area. The cycle track then hugs the coast from one stunning beach to another until we get to Dalmeny where we will stop for a picnic full of delicious local produce such as Bodalla Cheese. On the return journey we will stop at Foster Bay to show you the Wagonga Inlet and beyond.

If you love getting close to nature and getting away from crowds then this is the ride for you. We will drop you off at at Kianga Road where you will start your ride. (This avoids riding on the highway). The loop from Kianga Road via the Wagonga Scenic Drive back in to Narooma is one of our favourite cycle routes as there is always so much to see. The loop takes in stunning vistas over the Wagonga Inlet from the lookout high up on the hill with views right out to sea including to Baranguba (Montague Island.) Riding mainly on quiet dirt roads there is no better way to connect with friends and take in all of the beauty of the surrounds. Look out for the incredible wildlife. We have spotted wallabies, echidnas, and even a gorgeous wombat (as seen in the photo taken by one of our clients).
There is the most beautiful picnic area at the back of the Wagonga Inlet at Brices Bay. Stop and enjoy your local produce picnic with views over the Wagonga Inlet oyster leases. This is a long ride with lots of steep hills so stopping in such a tranquil setting is good to give you a rest before setting off again. The last part of the loop takes in stunning dairy pastures and more amazing views over the water. (Please see the Wagonga Loop and Wagonga Princes Self Guided Tour for the option to ride as far as Brices Bay and then put the bikes on to the Wagonga Princess at Brices Bay and enjoy a leisurely guided cruise back in to Narooma)
As mentioned this ride has a number of very steep hills. Whilst the e-bikes make climbing the hills manageable this ride is not suitable for young children and would most suit intermediate to advanced riders. Please also note there are no facilities anywhere on this ride so please make sure you bring plenty of water with you.

We will pick you up from your accommodation in Narooma and transfer you to our office where we fit you out with bikes, helmets etc.
Narooma is well known as a producing some of the best oysters in Australia. Your self guided e-bike tour this morning includes a private tour of an oyster farm followed by a tasting showcasing the Coxon's Oysters with different toppings and much more at The Oyster Farmers Daughter Oyster Bar. Learn all about how oysters are grown and what makes the Coxon's Oysters so special.
Leaving here continue back to the Narooma to Dalmeny Coastal Trail. Big Niles is located at the end of the trail. This is a fantastic spot to try different types of handcrafted beers or if you are not a beer drinker try their delicious cocktails. What is even better is that we will then pick you and the bikes up from here.


There is no better way to explore the area around Narooma and to re-connect with nature than by e-bike (electric bike). Immerse yourself in nature with minimal impact by simply cycling through it. Our e-bikes can either be ridden like a normal bike with no assist or adjust the assist to give maximum help. You still have to pedal but the assist helps you to get up hills easily allowing you to enjoy the scenery and ride further. We also have padded gel seats for extra comfort. The e-bikes are so much fun.
One of the most popular trails to ride is the spectacular Narooma to Dalmeny Coastal Trail where you may spot seals, whales and other incredible marine life. There are many more trails around the hinterland of Narooma to suit different fitness levels and time available. Did you know there are trails to Central Tilba, Mystery Bay and around the Wagonga Inlet? The e-bikes make these trails so much easier and are an eco friendly way to see the beautiful scenery.


Southbound Escapes promotes the appreciation and respect of our pristine environment integrated with cultural experiences. Travel by E-bike and Mountain bike help to reduce carbon emissions, increase physical activity and give our customers the ability to explore and be immersed within the South Coasts pristine natural environment. We encourage the use of established bike trails and ask our customers to please be aware of leaving a minimal footprint on the environment. Southbound Escapes donates $1 from every bike hire to Dalmeny Boardrider's Association, a community group that run regular surfing competitions, and promote community involvement and ocean safety for local youths. Southbound Escapes also donates $1 per bike hire to the Narooma Mountain Bike Club to help develop the mountain bike trails around Narooma. There is the option to donate further via the extras tab when doing an online booking.


Ask us about our tours. We operate tours that teach culture, story and history from one of the areas most respected Indigenous Yuin Nation Elders. Explore the tours tab on our website to book. Ask us about our self guided e-bike tour to the Tilba Valley Winery, Dromedary Hotel or Big Niles Brewery in Dalmeny where we can come and pick you and the bikes up so that you can enjoy the wine/beer. $1 for every person booked on a tour is donated to the Yuin Pre-School in Wallaga Lake.

One of the most beautiful things to do in Narooma is to take a bike ride along the Narooma to Dalmeny cycle track. The 21 km round trip route hugs the stunning coastline on a dedicated cycle track.


Starting from the Narooma Wharf spot giant sting rays, pelicans, fish and sometimes even seals and continuing along the track to the Narooma Bridge with panoramic views across the Wagonga Inlet to Gulaga Mountain in the distance. From here continue on to the Mill Bay Boardwalk and on to the numerous breathtaking beaches all the way to Mummaga Lake in Dalmeny.


At certain times of year you can spot whales breaching (May to November) or dolphins frolicking in the waves. On the return take the track to Fosters Bay and take in the views over the Wagonga Inlet. Explore the town of Narooma. Marvel at the seal colony at the Australian Rock lookout and take in the views to Montague Island from the Narooma Golf Course. Cycle to Surf Beach and view the magnificent Glasshouse Rocks.
The electronic mountain bikes make the ride that much easier with pedal assist technology allowing you to ride that much further and with less effort so that you can make the most of the scenery. Our bikes and e-bikes are new ensuring the latest technology and safety.



Enjoy a Pop Up Picnic in a secret location. The South Coast is one of Australia's most incredible food bowls. We are lucky to incredible dairy produce including the Bodalla Dairy Shed and Tilba Dairy cheeses right on our doorstep. The picnic is set up and packed up for you so all you have to do is relax and enjoy.
