Hunter Heroes Wine Tasting Experience

The Hunter Valley is Australia's oldest producing wine region. The first vines were planted in the 1820s. Today there are over 150 wineries producing a wide range of exceptional wines reflective of their origin. One of the founding families of Hunter Valley wines, the Tulloch family story began in 1895 when John Younie (J.Y.) Tulloch accepted an unusual settlement for a debt – a 43 acre property in nearby Pokolbin. Tulloch took an immediate liking to the property and the five acres of neglected Shiraz vines it contained and undertook his first foray into viticulture and winemaking.

Immerse yourself in the history of Tulloch Wines in Australia's oldest wine region, the Hunter Valley. In this tasting 6 Tulloch Wines have been chosen to perfectly represent the 'Hunter Heroes', the best know grape varieties of the Hunter being Semillon, Shiraz, Chardonnay & Verdelho. Included in this tasting is a wine from our museum cellar giving you an opportunity to taste and compare an aged Hunter wine alongside current release wines.

Kids Junior Tasting Experience (Child) $15 - Let the kids get involved and keep them entertained whilst you enjoy your wine tasting. Children will be seated at the same table as the adult wine tasting (please note, children are to be supervised by an adult while visiting the premises). The Tulloch story began back in 1895 when John Younie Tulloch (JY) owned the Branxton General Store and accepted an usual settlement of a debt - a 43 acre property in Pokolbin. JY took an immediate liking to the property and the 5 acres of Shiraz vines from which he produced the first Tulloch Pokolbin Dry Red (PDR) Shiraz.
This is your exclusive opportunity to take a deep dive into Tulloch PDR Shiraz, the wine that made the Tulloch name. Your Wine Ambassador will introduce you to 6 vintages of PDR from the old to the new. Paired with a generous l ocal artisan charcuterie and cheese board.

Combining our popular Tulloch Hunter Heroes wine tasting with a delicious 2 course a la carte lunch. Choose if you would like to start your day with a wine tasting followed by lunch (select the 11:00am booking), or lunch followed by your tasting (select the 12:30pm booking).
